How long has the Quote Centre been in business?
The Quote Centre has been in business since 2002, but since July 2007 in its current form.
What are the benefits of becoming a partner company?
Our partner companies enjoy a range of benefits:
- major savings in their marketing budgets, as there is no need to advertise all year round - simply order requests when work is needed
- no commission or fees are paid on the work done
- clients are selected by the tradesperson, and all requests can be viewed before selecting the most interesting ones
- the service is "no strings attached"
- daily e-mails with recent, targeted work requests, matched to the partner company's business and geographical area
What type of clients contact you?
The majority are private individuals and homeowners. Architects, storeholders, companies and public sector organisations also use our services to find contractors.
Why do these clients contact you?
In general, these people contact us because they are struggling on their own to find a tradesperson to do their work.
How do work requests come in?
All the requests for quotes are taken via detailed web forms, with specific and targeted questions for each job type. The forms are available on sites run by our partners exclusively for the Quote Centre: www.123getaquote.co.uk ...
Are the clients given our contact details in order to get in touch?
When you order the contact details for any request, an e-mail is automatically sent to the clients to advise them that you will soon be in contact or that you can be contacted directly.
Is there a quality control system for the work requests you take?
Our aim is to give you the best possible results. We quality-control all requests before forwarding them and between 30 and 40% are withdrawn.
How many work requests will I receive each day?
Obviously, the number of requests will depend on your trade and the geographical area that you work in. However, do not forget that you only pay for the requests you are interested in. You can always sign up initially to receive the requests free of charge. In just a few days you will have a good idea of the number of requests you are likely to receive.
Once I have subscribed, will I then pay for all the work requests sent to me?
No, after subscription, the details of the requests will still be sent out free of charge. You will then use your password to order the contact details for the requests you are interested in. Simply delete the requests you do not want - they cost you nothing.
How many jobs will I get?
Clearly, our service cannot ensure that you will end up working on 100% of the jobs you quote for. Your results will depend on how you process the requests for quotes. Experience is fairly varied but our partner companies generally manage to get 5 and 15% of the jobs.
How can I get the best out of the service?
Your outcomes will depend on the way that you deal with the work requests. There are 3 important rules:
- Carefully read all the requests before selecting the most interesting ones to order. Do not just order everything! Your credits have no expiry date, so you can always use them later.
- Contact the client as soon as possible and be persuasive!
- Offer your best possible quote, of course!
How should I sort through the work requests?
To get the most out of the service, read the work requests carefully before ordering. As time goes by, you will start to read between the lines and spot the most interesting requests.
For instance, check the following:
- Have plenty of details been given? (particularly the free description box)
- How soon does the client want the work done? (if the client does not specify a job start date, it maybe assumed that the job will come through less quickly than an "urgent" request)
- The reason for the requests. Is the client looking for a contractor or just an idea of the prices out there? (if you want to work soon, avoid people who are just asking for an idea of the prices out there, as they generally take longer to make up their minds)
Do not order requests without having read them through carefully beforehand.
Am I free to contact the clients myself?
Once you have ordered their details, you are free to contact clients as soon and as often as you want. We take no commission on the work you do.
How much does it costs to order clients contact details?
- A batch of 20 contacts costs £299.80 (ex. VAT) - £14.99 (ex. VAT) per contact.
- A batch of 50 contacts costs £699.50 (ex. VAT) - £13.99 (ex. VAT) per contact.
- A batch of 100 contacts costs £1299.00 (ex. VAT) - £12.99 (ex. VAT) per contact.
One off subscription fee: £20 (ex. VAT)
Why can't I buy a single credit to test the service? Why is the minimum purchase 20 credits?
To give you a proper feel for our service, you will need to reply to at least 20 work requests. Just like all your other jobs, you will not end up working on 100% of the jobs your ordered contact details. You will see a return on your investment much more clearly with 20 requests than with fewer.
How many companies receive the work requests?
We forward requests to an unlimited number of companies who have signed up to our service. However, only the first 5 companies to order the contact details will receive them, and therefore be able to contact the client.
On average, how many companies buy the requests?
The number of companies that buy contact details for a request vary depending on the type of request and the geographical area.
How many companies can purchase a single request?
For each request, the contact details can only be bought by 5 companies at the most. Once this maximum has been reached, we lock out access to the contact details. If you are the 6th person to order contact details for a request, no credit will be deducted from your account.
Why do you limit the number of companies that can buy a single request?
There are two reasons for this policy. Firstly, we want to prevent the client being swamped with proposals. Secondly, we want to ensure that tradespeople can get work without having to compete against too many other contractors.
If I do not order the contact details, do I have to pay anything?
No, you only pay for the requests you are interested in, by purchasing the client's contact details.
How do I access the contact details for a request I am interested in?
If you are interested in a request, simply click the Request client details button, and confirm your order by entering your password. The client's contact details will be displayed straightaway and you can make direct contact at your convenience.
Do you take a commission on my work?
We do not take any commission on the work done.
How long do my credits last?
Your credits are valid for 18 months, so you have plenty of time to use them.
